Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle

310 South Troy Street
Royal Oak, MI 48067
Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle, the first comedy club in Michigan opened January 4, 1979. The current Royal Oak location has been in the former Daily Tribune newspaper facility since February 1, 1990. Mark vowed after six previous locations that if he ever had to move again, it will be in a 400-seat mobile home that comes right to your neighborhood. Today, Mark still handpicks the club’s talent, searching the entire country and Canada for the very best comics available.

Maher Matta

Maher Matta has performed at comedy clubs and venues across the country. His style revolves around story telling about his childhood, marriage, kids, and observations on day-to-day life. With a diverse sense of humor, Maher’s comedy appeals to all audiences and comedic tastes. Maher’s comedy special, “Personally Speaking” ranked number four with Dry Bar Comedy’s “Top Ten Specials for 2021.” Maher’s natural delivery and timing makes him a comedian you don’t want to miss!

Dan Brittain

Dan Brittain is a comedian in Southeast Michigan. Dan started out in comedy at The Second City almost 20 years ago and finished their Conservatory program in improv. At some point he decided he didn’t like being around people on stage. He made the switch to stand up and it’s been hilariously awkward ever since. He’s performed multiple times at Gilda’s Laughfest, the Detroit Improv Festival, and is a regular at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle and One Night Stan’s. He’s hosted for Steve Mcgrew, Matt Holt, and was recently the feature comedian for Josh Sneed.

Ann Duke

Ann Duke is a Detroit area comic performing regularly at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle and One Night Stans – with a special place in her heart for Habitat for Humanity.

Brian Atkinson

Brian Atkinson is a comedian, an all-around nice guy, and a horrible person. His good-guy persona gives way to surprising twists to keep you laughing. While his voice might be the first thing you notice, his confidence, and engaging storytelling will keep you coming back. Brian has provided voices for PBS Kids while also appearing in a Lifetime Movie Network movie, as a serial killer, in the same studio, on the same day. Brian Atkinson makes jokes, but only the finest artisan, hand-crafted, farm-to-table-saw jokes.

Brian Atkinson is a Comedian

Brian’s sharp and smart comedic style has been a hit at clubs, contests, corporate events, churches, fundraisers, and festivals across the country. He has a hilarious professional touch that’s a perfect fit – without being offensive. Brian never uses profanity, discusses politics, or suggestive content. Brian Atkinson’s comedy is so funny, you won’t even notice he’s working clean. He’s more than a nightclub comedian trying to keep it clean.
