Paul Farahvar

Chicago based Paul Farahvar delights audiences with his unique, quick witted dry humor, centered on being an aging bachelor and former litigator. After becoming a staple on the Chicago Comedy Scene for a few years at his home club Laugh Factory, he began touring in 2016, first as a feature for headliners like Jen Kirkman, Demetri Martin and Gary Gulman, then later as a headliner. With no manager or agent, he managed to build a following in multiple cities, even selling out rooms in Chicago, Rockford, Denver, Milwaukee, Scottsdale, Sarasota and Tampa in the last two years. He was runner up in the Chicago Reader for Best Stand up Comedian in 2021 and was voted "Top 40 Up and Coming Comedians" in 2017. Prior to being a comedian, Farahvar was a trial litigator, earning the "Top 40 under 40" honor among judges and peers in Illinois. His podcast SINGLES ONLY! (SWSW 2020, was voted Best Podcast in 2021 (Chicago Reader) and he was a regular guest host on WGN Radio. He played "Karam Haddad" on NBC's "Chicago Med" in His Dry Bar special dropped in April, 2023 and his special with Helium Records dropped on April 26, 2023.

Stan Freberg Presents the United States of America Volume One: The Early Years is a 1961 American comedy album with music and lyrics written by Stan Freberg and sketches written by Freberg and Ken Sullett, released as Capitol W/SW-1573 in 1961. Freberg satirizes episodes of the history of the United States from 1492 until the end of the Revolutionary War in 1783. The album combined dialogue and song in a musical theater format. Billy May orchestrated and conducted the music, with the Jud Conlon Singers providing background vocals. Our presentation as a staged radio play omits the musical numbers but maintains the biting satire. It's worth noting that a casual listener may perceive stereotypes that haven't aged well. The satirical roast of the white man and historical authority figures survives and flourishes 65 years later. There's no punching down to oppressed people groups, only punching up at the pedestal standers like Christopher Columbus, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington. It's a hilarious romp through the early years of American history even if you're not a history buff.

Sperry's Moviehouse in downtown Holland, MI offers a unique movie theatre experience. Our boutique theatres are designed smaller to give moviegoers a more personal and intimate feel while enjoying their film. Our luxury recliner seats come with heat+ massage options. We didn’t invent the movies but we did invent the movies made comfortable.
We offer tasty concessions like popcorn, candy, slushies, soda, wine and beer in our lobby. Customers can buy their tickets (or better yet, pick them up after reserving them online), buy their concessions then take a seat in the theatre.
