Brian Atkinson

The Nicest Voice in Comedy. Brian Atkinson is a comedian who played a serial killer on TV while doing voices for PBS Kids. This guy-next-door with a radio voice talks about his career in broadcasting, voiceover, and being adopted twice, with twisted observations of everyday life. Brian is an award-winning comedian: Best of The Bash 2022, 2023, and 2025, World Series of Comedy 2023 and 2025 Wildcard 1st Place Winner and 2023-2026 Top 40 Comic. Brian is so funny, you might not notice he's working clean.

Sam Rager

Sam Rager offers audiences a charmingly dark perspective. Layering playful anecdotes with vulnerable pieces, she is able to connect with people on a deeper, yet sometimes uncomfortable level. Sam was one of Laughfest’s “Best of the Midwest” in 2019, a headliner at the inaugural Detroit Women of Comedy Festival, and both of her albums, Hot Dog Hands and Trigger Warning*, can be heard on SiriusXM. With the energy of an unhinged camp counselor, Sam Rager leans into grief, insecurities, and early aughts nostalgia.

Joe Lane

Joe Lane is the Senior Pastor/Founder at New Life Christian Center of Muskegon. He's a former Teacher/Assistant Principal at Reeths-Puffer Schools, and Orchard View Schools. Joe is a talented musician and has performed comedy all around West Michigan. Joe recently debuted at Gotham Comedy Club in New York City.

Mike Marvell

Mike Marvell has been doing comedy professionally for over 25 years, although he's been making people laugh his whole life. He told his guidance counciler in high school he wanted to be an engineer and she told him "With your grades? That's hilarious, you should be a comedian!" His comedy is based on growing up in Wisconsin... football, hunting, fishing, his family, and his wife and kids. He's performed at everything from churches to swinger clubs, grade schools to colleges, country clubs. to biker clubs, nursing homes to casinos (same thing). Instant likability, he reminds you of your crazy cousin, the guy next door, your brother-in-law. Even if you don't hire him you'll still want to hang out with him.

Brian Atkinson performs in the World Series of Comedy, Semi-Finals, Saturday April 18 7:00pm at One Night Stan's in Waterford, MI.

The Semi-Finals feature the top 2 comics from each of the 3 Round-2 shows. So, if my math is correct, that's the top 6 out of the original 40 comics. Each comic performs a 10-minute set, and the top 3 move on to the Finals at 9:30pm (so, there's a chance...).

Brian is an award-winning comedian: Best of The Bash 2022, 2023, and 2025 and 2025, World Series of Comedy 2023 and 2025 Wildcard 1st Place Winner and 2023-2026 Top 40 Comic - and now 2026 Semi-Finalist. Brian is so funny, you might not notice he's working clean.

One Night Stan's

Stan Moore has been an Oakland County resident his entire life. He’s been a politician, property owner and President of S & B Plumbing, where he has worked for over 50 years. So what made him decide to open a Comedy Club. When asked, he said “ I have loved stand up comedy for over 40 years’. Stan has been to comedy clubs throughout the United States and all over the world. His goal wasn’t just to open a bar and put comedians on stage. His idea was to build a venue made exclusively for Stand Up Comedy. Of course there will be other shows which he hopes to host, Dueling Pianos, Improv, Open Mic, Corporate events, Comedy Contests, Fundraisers, Magic, Hypnotism and there has even been talk about comedy weddings.
