The Humane Society of Bay County, a registered 501(c)(3), was formed in November 1984 by a group of concerned citizens who recognized a need within our community. Since that time, the organization has acted as the animal advocate in our community. Your support continues to be our inspiration as we look forward to a future of improved welfare for all animals.

We hope you’ll join us this year on October 27th for an elegant Masquerade and Costume Gala! This is a great opportunity to dress up in your best costume, have fun, and make a difference. All proceeds raised at the event go towards the Mission of the Humane Society of Bay County.

This is more than just a night of fun - it’s also an opportunity to support a meaningful cause. Your participation will help us provide critical services to animals in need. Be sure to invite your colleagues, friends, and family! Although costumes are not required, we encourage you to dress in your best costume, or masquerade! Fifth Reformed Church is a Christ-centered, multi-generational community with many young families. Though we’re a denominational church, we feel more like a community church because there are people from many different backgrounds. We’re a church focused on learning to live, love, and lead like Jesus. Jesus rooted his life in his relationship with God and lived from that identity. Jesus invested in a group of friends that grew into a spiritual family who joined him in his work. And Jesus engaged the larger world with mercy, justice, healing and teaching. Decibels is a music venue, comedy house, karaoke times 100, off the beaten path hot spot. It’s also available for private parties and events. Decibels is half a block east of the Portage City Hall and just north of central avenue. If you’re driving, we recommend checking Google. Indiana is loaded with parking! You can park in the grass or in the brush if you got a jeep but to play it safe, just park in the parking lot.

World Series of Comedy

The World Series of Comedy was first held in Pittsburgh, PA, in 2003 at a local comedy club. Today, the World Series of Comedy is a stand-up comedy event for comedians of all levels. It starts with weeklong live satellite contests all around the U.S. and Canada, culminating in a comedy festival we call The Main Event, in September. The festival includes 101 qualifying comedians competing in The Main Event, as well as an entire week of comedy seminars and social and networking events for comics, comedy club managers and bookers from the U.S. and Canada.
